Documentation from a performance I did for the first anniversary of the gallery space I run with Ryan Dunn, Tritriangle.
The Pleasure of Video Painting
Tritriangle emerges in the space of the former Enemy on October 20th, 2012!
Founded by Ryan T Dunn and William Robertson, Tritriangle aims to present works which engage with the potential of sound, video, language, and other performed, performative, and time based media—implicating the audience, transcending classification, and challenging traditional aesthetic and conceptual notions. Through these forms Tritriangle hopes to engage psychology, performativity, mediation, intervention and spatialization. We believe the experience of those who attend, engage, learn, enjoy, critique, and emotionally respond to anything that happens at our space, whether during or after, is what our efforts produce. In addition to exhibitions and performances we are looking forward to collaborative and educational programming in order to encourage discussion and and community engagement.
New Events @ Enemy
Starting June 8th I will be beginning a new series of events at Enemy, starting with performances by A B Miller, Jon Satrom, Andy Ortmann and CakeFactory.
At a time and place
In my earlier post I mentioned that I would have some documentation of the video installation online..
Performance from MT Chicago

Sitting here, I am thinking about what has been happening over the past four months…
[TMVRTX + GlitcHardNixon (GHN)]
It has been quite a while since I have last updated this page. I feel like this is a little bit ridiculous considering the massive amount of time that I spend in my life on the web. However there is another part of me that takes pleasure in taking a silent seat behind the glow and simply observing for a while. Winter it seems, has also decided to take this season riding in the back seat. I can’t remember the last time that it has been so warm from December through Febuary.
I have recently had the opportunity to document some of my work dating back from 2009 (which I will be able to post a video of soon.) An interactive installation, the piece is an attempt to allow people to interact with the active history of a given space. People are invited to step in front of a monitor with a camera mounted above it. When a person steps in front of the camera their motion allows them to peek into a brief history of those that came before them. As they scrub through the past, they will quickly realize that they are recording themselves over the past and creating a new historical record of their actions within the space.
In other news I am hoping to organize two video performance screenings/shows coming up later this month and also in mid april. Unfortunately I cannot really say anymore about this as many details are still pending but I will be sure to let anyone who is reading know (any others in the physical world) as soon as everything gets sorted out. Keep posted…
